It is 70 degrees out right now. I kid you not! The boys and I took advantage and went out to play. We played a little baseball then we played at the park. A neighbor was nice enough to share his bubbles so we played with those too. I can't wait for spring and summer so we can be out like that all the time!

Lately I have been working really hard on orders. It seems like all I have been doing. It is all good though because I had a special sale to raise money for our adoption and I had a sell out! Go me!!

My dorky husband actually took this picture of me working today. Yeah, I know my sewing room is a disaster but oh well, I am getting the work done so that is all that matters right? I also love how I look so ratty and gross, Ewwwwww! LOL!

Ok, so I have not been keeping up with my blog. I have been out of sorts and busy since DH came home. I did manage to get my camera out and take some photos today though. I got some cute ones of Cam out on the playground.

We found our long lost kitty! He has been missing for 7 months and today we found him! The picture is really bad because he was hiding under some junk in our garage.

Well, we are snowed in and there is nothing to do. So, I made cookies. Lots of cookies. They are gooooooooooooooooooooood! At least it was something to do.

Still snowing. We have at least 6 inches now. The boys went out for a bit but we aren't prepared for this kind of weather. We don't have boots, snow pants or snow gloves. So they really don't get to enjoy it as much as they would like.

We are supposed to get maybe a foot of snow tonight. I live in New Mexico!! Ugh! This winter has been so strange. I think the cold follows us everywhere we go. Oh well, at least I got a cute photo of my oldest son ouside and even managed to capture a few flakes (of snow that is;) )!

Jan 18 - Homecoming

John is home! It was a great morning. There were alot of people there to welcome all the Airman home from Iraq today. There were news and radio crews there too. We had the reception in one of the hangers and when the jet carrying all our guys pulled up they opened the hanger doors and we alll rushed out to watch them get off the plane and greet them. It was awesome!

Ok, granted, I had to sit on Camden to get this photo. It is not a great photo or anything but I thought it was cute. Also, the rest of my day has been spent cleaning again! I didn't think anyone wanted to see a photo of my toilet (though it is sparkling clean!). I am pretty sure Cam is coming down with something (notice the red cheeks?). He always gets those red cheeks before he gets sick:( I hope it is mild whatever it is.

Cleaning. Every.single.room. That is my job today. Ugh! I hate cleaning. But the boys finally went back to school and I only have a short time until John returns from his deployment so I *have* to get this house cleaned. I have already done 2 of the 3 bathrooms and Dawson, and Payton's room (boy was that a PIGSTY). The living room just needs to be vaccumed and laundry baskets taken upstairs and put away. The kitchen needs to be swept and mopped and a few dishes put away. I don't even want to think about my craft room! Cam's room just needs to be picked up and vaccumed and my room the same. So it isn't TERRIBLE, just time consuming and annoying. Cleaning is not my thing. I despise it.

It is just frigid outside. The boys went out to play and not even 10 minutes later came in all red and crying because it was so cold. So, they have the day off school for MLK day and can't even go out to play:( It is going to be a looooooooooooooooooooooooooong day!

Jan 14 - Getting ready for Daddy

The boys and I are so excited for John to be coming home. He is finally on his way! We made a sign to put up for when he comes home. I like the first one best because it is more in focus and you can see more of Paytons' face, but then Dawson stuck his arm up in front of my shot right as I snapped it! Ugh. I like the second shot too but Payton is not in focus as much....it is more centered on the poster. I like both shots though and wanted to share them both for today!

The weather has been so crazy this winter. The beginning of the week it was sunny and 65. The kids were playing outside in just a T-shirt and jeans. Then, this morning we wake up to this. Ice covering everything and about 20 degrees. No wonder we keep getting cold after cold. Yep, ready for winter to be over. Though it does give me some cool photo opportunities!

So I was working on focus today. I discovered that I LOVE using manual focus! I posted more photos today and I used manual focus on some and autofocus on some. I really like the control using manual focus plus I can sharpen it so much more! YAY! I am figuring it out...I am a bit slow though:)

Jan 10 - Just the two of us

Well, now that the older two boys went back to school today, it is just Cam and I again. We have already worked on sewing up some things for the charity auction, cleaned his room, made Mommy's bed, watched Toy Story and played Peek-a-boo! And it is only 11:30am. So much fun....so little time:) And, I did 2 pictures for today...I couldn't decide...

Jan 9 - Hold my hand, Mommy.

That is what Camden said when we were out at the park playing. They have these little bouncy things where the kids can jump on or sit on and they bounce. Camden always insists I hold his hand while he jumps. I love that he still needs my help. I know that soon he will be big enough when he won't say "Hold my hand, Mommy" anymore. I better enjoy it while it lasts.

BTW, I am still trying to learn this camera. I think I have shot over 100 shots in the last day and only a few have turned out usable. I need to curl up with my manual and learn all I can from it, then with my field guide when it arrives! Still love the camera....just not used to it yet.

Jan 8 - I love my new camera!

I got my new camera today! I love it. I love how fast the shutter is compared to my old camera, I love how the photos look. I just LOVE it! Of course it is going to take some learning to do all I want but so far I really am impressed. I have a field guide on the way and I am going to take to studying it! I took LOTS of photos already, some turned out some didn't. I liked this one of Camden. With my old camera I could never capture the color of his eyes. It always made them look so dull and lifeless. Look at how vibrant they look with this camera. I just *love* it.

Jan 7 : Larger than life

Isn't it funny how heros seem so much bigger than all of us? Larger than life? How they can stir up such feelings in us? I remember as a kid feeling like that as well. Mostly about my Dad but also other TV characters as well. My boys really look up to alot of "heros". Camden really loves Buzz Lightyear, Lightning McQueen, and Superman. Dawson and Payton love Superman, Spiderman and Wolverine. Isn't it funny how their "heros" shift as they get older? My heros have also changed. While my Dad is still up there he has been moved to the second spot with John being in first. I am so incredibly proud of him and his accomplishments. He is the best husband and Father I could ever hope for. Yes, he makes me angry and drives me completely crazy but, during these last 4 months without him I have realized just how special he is and just how lucky I am to have married him.

Jan 6 - Buzz Lightyear to the Rescue!

Ok, so this photo is not all that artisticly great but I thought it was cute. Camden is WAY into Toy Story and loves wearing his Buzz costume around the house. It is like pulling teeth trying to get it off him for the day! I don't mind that he likes to wear it. It was a costume I made for Payton about 4 years ago and it has been worn the last 4 Halloweens buy one of my kids. I think I got my time and moneys worth out of it! He runs around saying " I'm Buzz Lightyear, I can Fwy!". And "Buzz Lightyaear to the wescew!". He just cracks me up.

Jan 5 - My Middle Child

Well, I wanted to do photos depicting my kids different eye colors (one has blue, one green, and one brown) but they didn't want to cooperate today, so maybe next time! I did get this one shot of my middle boy Payton. This poor little guy. He has had so many different health issues. Severe allergies and eczema. The allergies are controlled pretty well with allergy shots but he still struggles with eczema. If you notice the dry patches around his eyes. It is always something with him. I really hope he outgrows it as he gets older. I just feel so bad that at 6 he has to endure that kind of heath issue. Thankfully I finally yelled at the right person who could get his allergies under control at least!

Mommy's little piggy

My baby. Yep, this dirty little piggy boy is my baby. He is sweet and he is a terror. He can make me laugh and cry all in the same minute. He is so so active yet can be just as lazy as anyone! My house is always trashed because of this little cutie. He is like a human tornado....chasing Mommy wherever she goes and leaving the trail behind to show where he's been. Oh well, someday he won't make these kinds of messes, he'll move out and make messes in his own home. I guess for now I will look past the mess and concentrate on enjoying everything about this little piggy that makes him my little boy.

Jan 3 - Sad and lonely

I feel sad and lonely today so I took sad and lonely photos. I don't like winter. Everything is quiet, cold, and empty. I can't wait for summer when the flowers are blooming, the grass is green and kids are running around playing and laughing again. Enough winter already.

Jan 2 - Half finished?

It seems like lately everything only gets half finished around here. My laundry is clean and folded but not out away. I have a custom order I am half finished with, and these pair of longies with one leg left to knit have been sitting half done for weeks. So that is my photo for today. The half finished pair of longies I really need to just sit down and get done.

For this photo I was trying to get the front and back blurred while only a small portion was in focus in the middle. I guess I sort of achieved that.....though not as I had hoped. Also, the color did not come out as vibrant as it is in real life no matter what I tried. So after what seemed like 100 shots I finally got this.....sort of what I was striving for but still not quite.........

So since we all decided to do a photo a day for 365 days I chose to do this one for my first photo. It represents the day I had. It was complete and utter chaos from the moment I awoke. The kids were screaming and fighting. And it all culminated with Camden throwing and breaking a glass. So that is what this photo is....a broken glass!
